YMC Fair Board met for first 2021 meeting in preparation for this year’s fair
The Yellow Medicine County Fair Board met on Jan. 21 via Zoom to begin preprtion for the 2021 fair. The board reviewed some items from the previous meeting, including the acceptance of $10,000 in COVID relief.
School board to get bids for high school roof project
The school board, during their Jan. 19 meeting, approved getting quotes for a roofing project at the high school as well as a salt spreader and also approved the use of the Lancer logo in patches for the Canby Police Department. The board discussed the high school roof. Areas of the roof are leaking and need to be repaired.
Live Well. Age Wisely
Besides my job at Prairie Five, I work at a group home for adults with vulnerable health. When offered the COVID-19 vaccine, I signed up immediately. I had seen my friends who work in healthcare receive their vaccines and knew they had done their research about its safety so didn’t think twice.

Report suspicious activity to the Canby Police Department
Over the past several weeks, the Canby Police Department has received a number of complaints regarding suspicious vehicles and/or suspicious persons.
New option available for high-risk COVID patients
Sanford Canby has a new weapon in the battle against COVID. Since the end of December, Sanford has been offering an outpatient IV infusion treatment called Bamlanivimab. It is a monoclonal antibody which is not approved by the FDA but has been authorized for emergency use.
