Eric Diekmann to compete in Ironman Bike Race to benefit With Angel Wings
The Ironman Bike Race is back after a break last year, and this year, there will be a local contender. Canby Police Chief Eric Diekmann is taking the Ironman head on, riding in The Century race, which is just over 100 miles in length. This route takes riders over hills and bluffs and promises spectacular views of the Minnesota River.

City council discusses small cities development, old bank building
The July 21 Canby City Council meeting started with the public hearing for the small cities development program. Bernice Robinson was in attendance from RDC. She first updated the council on what is going on with the grant. The original grant budget was $425,000 of construction funds to rehab 17 homes.
School board approves uniform purchase, coaches, facilities maintenance
The Canby School Board met July 19, approving purchase of pants for the football team, fall coaches, and the long term facility maintenance plan.

Dear Editor,
Harry and Bessie Hansen, long-time Hendricks residents. had six children; Dad is famously remembered for his early morning friendly face, making coffee at Kirkvold’s. Mom loved the church and children, babysitter of the decade.
We lost our youngest sister, Aine, in 1998 to an automobile accident.

Adam Josephson grew up around his father’s veterinary clinic in Taunton and returned recently to begin his career as a veterinarian after earning his degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota.
