Students at Canby High School had the privilege of listening to motivational speaker, Cory Greenwood. Greenwood’s mission is to help people overcome the obstacles of life such as insecurity, fear and self-doubt. He uses his story to inspire people to “See More. Be More. Do More.” Because “Your Story Matters,” so keep living it.
An all too common occurrence has become the near daily reminder that we can all be targets for unwanted correspondence. These can range from the all too familiar, and bothersome, vehicle warranty phone calls to more serious items, including direct attempts to gain personal information.
The school board voted on the purchase of a new chiller for the high school, discussed cyber security, and approved the head coaching positions for winter sports.
Tom Hunstad from Johnson Controls was in attendance to speak with the board. He identified five different projects that need to be addressed.
Halloween is right around the corner. Porches are decorated, costumes are being picked out, and home owners are stocking up on candy. Halloween is a very exciting time for kids, but for some parents, Halloween is added stress, especially to parents of children with special needs or who have a restrictive diet or food allergy.
Chasing our Tails Inc., which operated a packaging and distribution pet treat warehouse in the former Schott building in Minneota for the past two years, has pulled up stakes and left town quietly. Chasing our Tails owner/CEO Steve Trachtenberg gave no comment. When asked again where he will now ship products from, Trachtenberg became agitated.
Despite initial expectations that the responsible contractor’s insurance would cover the costs of replacing the entirety of the high school’s gym floor, it now appears that Lac qui Parle Valley could be footing a large portion of those costs.
A public-private partnership between the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) and the Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom (MAITC) Foundation is offering grants to K-12 teachers, 4-H, and FFA groups in Minnesota to develop educational experiences around agriculture and food systems education.
The third MNwest Entrepreneur Summit, being held virtually on Wednesday, Oct. 27, showcases entrepreneur insights and business growth approaches that can be replicated across the region. It highlights student founders, regional entrepreneurs, innovators, and companies, as well as national initiatives.
Halloween is so close I can almost taste the Reese’s. I don’t know about any of you, but if you’ve ever had small children, you know the biggest fight is the candy. Rationing it out to one piece a day or having the candy simply disappear are options, but they are honestly not worth the fight. But have you heard about the Switch Witch?
