Canby’s first place winners in the Veterans of Foreign Wars patriotic audio and essay writing competition are moving on to the state competition. Both were named first place in the southwest Minnesota district.
Senior Mackenzie Evjen was nominated by the social studies department as the school’s student of the week. She is the daughter of Michelle Evjen and Cory Asmussen.
“Mackenzie is one of the hardest working students at CHS. She always strives to do her best. She is a role model for other students,” the department said.
