Looking Back

From Dec. 1972 - Students in the first and second grade at the Canby Public School presented their annual Christmas program for parents and others last Tuesday afternoon, December 19. The plays were a combination of music and acting out and directed by Don Norlin. Above the children spell out Bethlehem and use this as a theme for this skit.

Boys basketball falls to Lakeview at home

Canby fell into a quick hole they were never able to get out of in a 64-47 home loss to Lakeview Tuesday.

The Lakers jumped out to an 11 point lead and never looked back, going wire to wire.

Despite falling into a deep hole, the Lancers didn’t back down, going toe-to-toe with the Lakers the rest of the game.

Lady Lancers finish on top of close battle against Lakers

Canby held on for a 49-47 win at Lakeview Tuesday night.

The lady Lancers led throughout most of the first half, building as much as a 20-12 lead on a pair of Paige Nelson free throws with 30 seconds left in the first half.

Lakeview closed the half with a bucket to pull within six, 20-14, at the break.
