Looking Back
From Jan. 1998 - The Canby High School one act play cast placed third at sectionals in Redwood Falls Saturday, which carries with it alternate status. The cast performed “Insert Boat,” a script borrowed from the works of Lewis G.

Prairie Five’s Senior Nutrition/Meals program has provided valuable services throughout our five-county service area for decades. The services include a delicious, well-balanced, affordable meal, but also the opportunity to connect with friends, socialize, and stay up-to-date on all the local happenings at our meal sites.
Dilly Party
Canby Elementary accelerated readers students enjoyed dilly bars from Dairy Queen for obtaining 85% or higher on their accelerated reader quizes for the second quarter on Jan. 27.
Sensational Work
The Canby Minneota Sensations took third out of eight teams at the MACCRAY competition (above) Jan. 16 and varsity kick took third out of seven teams at the Montevideo Competition (below) Jan. 13.
Canby Schools' Staff of the Week
Judy Berckes, a Canby native, is a fourth grade teacher at Canby Elementary School. She has a son Ted, his wife Amanda and their daughter Lydia, and a daughter Grace and her husband Jordan.
Berckes got her bachelors degree from the University of Minnesota Morris.
Canby High School Student of the Week
Senior Lane Fink was nominated by the math department as the school’s student of the week. He is the son of Perry and Catherine Fink.
“Lane is currently enrolled in college algebra, math 110 through SMSU. He has completed all upper level math classes offered at CHS,” the department said.
Canby Youth Wrestling season in full force
The Canby Wrestling program is in the middle of a successful season at all levels as we approach the critical month of February. Our Varsity Wrestlers made a statement last Friday night in Minneota defeating two more state ranked opponents with victories over #8 Belgrade-Bruton-Elrosa (BBE) and #6 Minneota.
