Charles Lavoie, beloved husband of Maxine (nee Lacek), age 89, of Marshall, Minn., died under the care of his family and hospice on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, at his home in Marshall.

Lynn Pederson, age 80, of Gary, S.D., passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby, Minn.  Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at the First Ev. Lutheran Church in Gary, with Rev. Bruce Mueller officiating.  Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery, Gary.  Visitation will be 5-7 p.m.

Leona Mae Smith, age 95, of Canby, Minn., passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby. Prayer service and visitation was held Sunday, August 25, at the Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel with burial at the St. Lucas Cemetery, Cottonwood, Minn.

Bernice Nordseth, age 94, of Canby, Minn., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug.20, 2024, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Canby. Burial will be in the St. Stephen's Cemetery, Canby.

Leroy A. Hemish, age 94, of Hayti, S.D., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024, at Edgewood Living Center. Funeral services were held Monday, August 19, 2024, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown, S.D. Scott Dempster officiated. Burial took place at the Canby City Cemetery in Canby, Minn.

Mass of Christian Burial for Gregory “Greg” Swedzinski, 62, of Porter, will took place Monday, Aug. 19, 2024, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota, with burial at the Methodius Catholic Cemetery in Taunton.

Gerry Gingles, age 84, of Canby, Minn., passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. Funeral service were held Monday, July 29, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church in Canby with burial in the Canby City Cemetery.

Leslie “Les” Mead, age 78, of Canby, Minn., passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, surrounded by family at his home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 17, from 4-6 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Canby.
