Betsy Meehan

Betsy Rose (Grengs) Meehan  Passed away on December 19, 2023, after losing her battle with cancer. Betsy did not want a funeral but to be remembered in better times.

Betsy was born on August 10. 1944, to Mildred and Aloysius (Al) Grengs.

Betsy was very frugal, living without many modern comforts, often saving for two years for her next adventure. Traveling the world was her passion, whether it was an African safari or ziplining through Vietnam. Photography was taught to us all by her father, Grandpa Al. She documented her whole life and travels. Betsy carried on the genealogy Grandpa Al started tracing our family back 11 generations. We enjoyed many family reunions with Grandpa organizing and Betsy and Aunt Gloria running the show.

Betsy said, "A friendly smile, means the same thing no matter where you go." And she did have a big smile. Making friends all around the world.

Her pet of choice was snakes. She was on her third snake, Rosie, giving them all a healthy, long life full of love and adventure, bringing them with her many times, and helping people lose their fear of snakes.

Betsey could tell long stories and spend many hours on the phone, and when the conversation was hard to end, a countdown was needed. Three, two, one. Bye, Betsy.

Betsy is survived by brothers Sheldon, Dennis, Pat, Merlin, Rick, and Chuck; sisters Gloria and Nancy; and son Chad.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Mildred and Aloysius; and sister Gloria.

Until we meet again! Thank you for your friendship and guidance through life's difficult moment. You will be dearly missed.
