Carol Olson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Olson (Moen), who passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 10, 2022, at the age of 92.

She was born on December 8, 1930, in Warren, Minn., to parents Martin and Myrtle Moen. She is preceded in death by four older siblings; sisters, Bernice Zuelke and Arlene Vilas; and brothers, Dick and Glenn Moen.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. After growing up in Canby, Minn., and graduating from Canby High School, she married Howard Olson in 1948 and was happily married to him for 46 years. They resided most of that time in Edina, Minn., before moving to Peoria, Ariz., shortly before Howard’s passing in 1994.

Carol was an avid tennis player and golfer and remained athletically active until late in life, even recording a hole-in-one at the age of 78.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Olson of Peoria, Ariz.; and sons, James Olson of Missoula, Mont., and David (Mary) Olson of Cold Spring, Minn.

She was a loving grandmother to Michael (Stacey) Pivovar, Rachael (Jesse) Spence, Laura Olson, and Christina (AJ) Karsky, and great-grandmother to eight great-grandsons, ranging in age from four to 21.

She was a constant source of love and support to her entire family.

Carol will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in her memory. She will be forever in our hearts.
