Dr. Robert Snortum

Dr. Robert Snortum, age 69, of Canby, MN, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Out of respect for all the doctors, nurses and hospital staff working tirelessly to fight COVID and stop the spread, Bob’s immediate family chooses to have a private graveside service. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved mother, Olga, as he had always wished. In lieu of flowers at a public ceremony, the family welcomes you consider a donation of flowers to either the residents and staff of the Sanford Nursing Home or the Sanford Hospital & Clinic or to donate in his honor to one of the many charities he supported over his life, including the Canby Fire Department, the Gary Fire Department, the Canby Rotary, the Lund-Hoel House, the Depot, or Feeding America.

He is survived by his wife, Gabriele; daughter, Nikki; son, John; step-daughters, Rachel and Kristin; granddaughter, Lily; and step-grandchildren Paige and Tanner; along with his father, Darold; brother, Steve; brother, Pete, and sister-in-law, Desli; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
