Jeanine (Jeanie) Theodora Brevik was born July 20, 1944, to Len and Jonette (Enestvedt) Brevik. She was baptized at Opdal Lutheran Church near Sacred Heart, Minn., in 1944, attended Zoar Lutheran Church near Marietta, Minn., until fifth grade, and was confirmed in her faith at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gary in May 1958. She was raised on a farm near Gary, attended Country School Dist. #23 for eight years, and graduated from Gary High School in 1962. She attended Sioux Valley School of Nursing in Sioux Falls, S.D., to become a Registered Nurse.

Together they raised three children, Laura, Jay, and Jennifer, ran a dairy farm, and raised sheep. Jeanie enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom for many years, helping her husband on the farm and with his mules in parades, horse pulls, and funerals.

She loved gardening, sharing her flowers, playing organ and piano for church services, playing the violin, sewing, and painting, as well as playing with her grandchildren and hosting horse camp for them at Lynn’s annual horseback riding school.

In 2011, Jeanie retired from nursing in Canby, and she and Lynn purchased the Gate City General Store where she enjoyed working, meeting friends, and making new ones at “Jen’s Store”.

She is survived by her husband, Lynn; children, Laura (Kent) Wipf of Minnetonka, Minn., Jay Pederson of Clear Lake, S.D., and Jennifer Pederson of Gary, S.D.; grandchildren, Lindsay (Luis) of Guerrero, Seville, Spain, Kyle Wipf of Enid, Okla., Kevin Wipf of Mankato, Minn., and Lisa Wipf of Minnetonka, Minn; great-granddaughter, Eden; sister, Lenore; brother, Todd (Mary); and many nieces and nephews.
