She was baptized at Opdal Lutheran Church near Sacred Heart, Minn., in 1944, attended Zoar Lutheran Church near Marietta, Minn., until fifth grade, and was confirmed in her faith at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gary in May 1958. In 2011, Jeanie retired from nursing in Canby, and she and Lynn purchased the Gate City General Store where she enjoyed working, meeting friends, and making new ones at “Jen’s Store”.
