She was baptized and confirmed at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Marshall, MN. She attended District #28 school until the ninth grade. She contracted rheumatic fever her senior year but was able to graduate from Marshall High School in 1948.

After graduation, she worked at Schrunk’s Garage as a secretary/bookkeeper. There, she met the love of her life, Marion Earl Schrunk. They were married on Wednesday, December 1, 1948, at First English Lutheran Church in Marshall. They moved to Canby in 1949 to start Canby Implement.

She was a quilter, taught Sunday school, belonged to church circle and was involved in the WELCA at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. She was an active member of the Hammer Bees Extension Club, Hospital Auxiliary, 4-H leader, and Sons of Norway. In 1971, she was selected to go to the 22nd Pillsbury Bake off in Hawaii.

She was a gifted artist in watercolors, oils, acrylics, rosemaling and china painting. In 2011, one of her china painting vases was selected to be on exhibit at the World Organization of China Painters Museum in Oklahoma. She also exhibited many of her pieces at the annual art show in Port Charlotte, Florida.

She loved to entertain, play cards, games, craft, sew, knit, and crochet. She and Marion traveled all over the world and the U.S. They loved winters at their home in North Port, Florida. Summers were spent at their farm or home at Lake Cochrane. God was the center of their lives. Every Sunday, they were in church, wherever they were.
