Norma was born to Noman and LeVerna (Severson) Reishus, on February 23, 1933, in Clarkfield, MN.  Her childhood years were spent on the farm in Normania Township.  She graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1951.  She enjoyed a year at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.  Norma met the love of her life, Ralph Dovre, at a 4-H softball tournament.  They were married on June 6, 1953, at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in rural Cottonwood.  They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this June. Her legacy carries on through six children, 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren (at present date).

Norma kept the books for the family farm, overseeing its growth and embracing new technology beginning with the shoebox and ending with computerized records. Norma instilled the love of music in all those around her, especially her children and in Bethel Lutheran Church as choir director, pianist, and organist. Norma was a 4-H leader and member of the Women’s Federation Club, American Cancer Society, and SMAHC. She beautified the neighborhood with her flower gardens and volunteered as a master gardener. She loved to share her bounty and skills with friends, family, and the YMC Fair.

Norma loved to play cards, read books, square dance, paint, and quilt.  Many fond memories were created in a Suburban jam-packed with six rambunctious kids, pulling a trailer across the United States and Canada. Ralph and Norma loved to travel and enjoyed many winters in Bella Vista, Arkansas.

Norma is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ralph Dovre of Canby, MN; children, Diane (Ray) Radatz of Lewiston, MN, Carol (Mark) Hruby of Garfield, MN, Linda (Greg) Kockelman of Canby, MN, Donald (Gloria) Dovre of Williamsburg, IA, Neil (Sandy) Dovre of Cottonwood, MN, and Jill (Kevin Hendrick) Dovre of Crescent City, CA; fifteen grandchildren, Corinne du Preez, Timothy Radatz, Laura Cleveland, Michelle Peterson, Leslie Elfering, Nicholas Kockelman, Anders, Nels, Jurgen, Inga Dovre, Noah, Jonah, Elijah Dovre, and Winona and Donovan Hendrick; and 15 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by brothers, Kaye (Sharon) Reishus and Terry (Sue) Reishus; sister-in-law, Marge Reishus; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and LeVerna Reishus; brother, John Reishus; and infant sister, Marla Reishus.
