Richard Herbeck

Richard Herbeck, age 94, of Canby, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021, at his home.

Richard was born July 23, 1927, the son of Henry and Frieda Herbeck in St. George, MN. He married Ursula Freymann in Giessen, Germany, on March 2, 1952, while serving in the Army as a 2nd lieutenant during the Korean War.

Richard started on the farm in Redwood Falls which carried into a number of jobs within the agricultural field. He and his family finally settled in Canby, MN, teaching ag business at the Canby Area Vocational School. Richard was a man of many talents and loved woodworking and home projects.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Ursula; sister, LaVonne Lange; and parents.

He is survived by his six children, Michael Herbeck and Sabina Herbeck of Canby, Jessica (Lee) Savoie of Milroy, MN, Lesley (Dale) Boyenga of Eden Prairie, MN, Jason (Tracy) Herbeck of Aberdeen, SD, and Lisa Herbeck of Brooklyn Center, MN; and two grandchildren, Nathan (Erin) Boyenga of West Des Moines, IA, and Rachel (Matt) Schmidt of Duluth, MN.

Richard leaves behind a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Brunhilde (Willibald) Krebs of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Erika Freymann of Germany; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
