He grew up on the family farm north of Minneota and graduated from Minneota High School where he was active in sports and excelled in academics.  Ross obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from Southwest State University.  Ross farmed with his father, Curt, for many years on the family farm and recently enjoyed teaching his son, Parker, how to farm.  Ross was passionate about helping out in the community. He enjoyed finding an antique he couldn't live without.  On August 14, 2021, he was united in marriage to Amanda Polencheck.  Above all, Ross was most passionate about farming, agriculture and his family.

Ross fell ill suddenly and suffered additional complications while receiving medical treatment for the last couple weeks in Sioux Falls.  He went to join his parents on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.
