Sylvia was united in marriage to James Pridal on September 21, 1951, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Madison, MN.  The couple lived and farmed near Taunton, MN, where they raised their family.  In 2008, they retired from farming and moved to Marshall, MN.  Jim passed away on May 16, 2021.  As Sylvia’s health declined, she moved to her daughter Sharon’s home in Sioux Falls, SD, where she passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and eight days.

She was a member of the Living Word Lutheran Church in Marshall, MN, where she served as a church committee member, and was a former member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Porter, MN.  Sylvia volunteered on many community organizations, was a member of the Sons of Norway and was an active supporter and leader of Marshall Food 4 Kids.    She was a lifelong card player, passionate about Bridge and Pinochle.  She was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan and enjoyed entertaining family and friends, serving baked goods like pop-overs, cookies and lefse.  Sylvia also enjoyed knitting, sewing, and gardening.    She and Jim traveled to Hawaii and had many special trips to visit family and friends.  They also enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona at Road Haven.  She relished her sister and cousin outings.  Her travels to Norway and Prague were big highlights, combining travel and family.  Sylvia, adventurous at heart, had fond memories of skydiving and taking a hot air balloon ride.  Sylvia found a reason to enjoy her ice cream nearly every day.
