Obituaries

Darold L. Snortum, age 96, of Canby, Minn., passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, at the Sanford Canby Medical Center in Canby. A "Celebration of Life" service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Canby, Minn., with burial in the St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Canby.

Paul W. Holmlund, age 91, of Prior Lake, Minn., formerly of Brooklyn Center, Minn., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at his home at McKenna Crossing.

Lynn S. Hanson was born on February 10, 1931, in Freeland Township, Lac Qui Parle County. He was the son of Lloyd and Ellen (Larson) Hanson.  He was baptized and confirmed at the Florida Lutheran Church. He attended District 100 Country School through eighth grade, graduating June 1, 1949, from Madison High School.

Rodney Wright Renaas passed away peacefully on the farm, just as he wished, with his wife and son by his side on March 8, 2023, at age 84. Rod was a lifelong resident of Nunda, S.D. He was born to Augustinus (Bob) and Lillian (Johnson) Renaas on July 27, 1938, at the Volga Hospital.

Helen Mary Mead passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on March 5, 2023, at the age of 96. Mass of Christian Burial took place on Monday, March 13, 2023, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Canby, Minn., with Fr. Ron Huberty celebrating. Burial was at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Canby.

Helen Mead, age 96, of Canby, Minn., passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby, Minn.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 13, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Canby.  Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m.

Shirley Peters Shirley A. Peters, 86, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2023, at Prairie Senior Cottages, Willmar, Minn., with family by her side. Funeral services for Shirley will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Neva Hacker, age 95, of Canby, Minn., passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, at the First Presbyterian Church in Canby. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m.
