James Tollakson

James Tollakson, age 67, of Canby, Minn., died on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the Swift County-Benson Hospital in Benson, Minn. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, at the Nicolai Lutheran Church in Canby. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Canby City Cemetery.

Paul Miller

Paul A. Miller was born November 10, 1924, in Canby to Art and Ida Miller. Following graduation from Canby High School in 1942, he entered the Army in February of 1943 and served in WWII in Germany and France. He was discharged in February of 1946 and returned to Canby to work with his father in his implement business.

Mildred Nevins

Mildred “Tut” Arlene Nevins, age 96, of Clear Lake, S.D., passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Sanford Clear Lake Medical Center in Clear Lake. Per Mildred’s wishes there will be a private burial at the Swedish Mission Covenant Cemetery, rural Astoria, SD. Houseman Funeral Home in Clear Lake, S.D., is entrusted with the arrangements.

Paul Severson

Paul Richard Severson was born on June 26, 1945, to Palmer and Bernice (Jesme) Severson in Canby, Minnesota.  He grew up on a farm in Gary, S.D., and graduated from Gary High School in 1963. Paul met Norma Miller from Canby, and the two were united in marriage when they were both just 19.

Marcella Oellien

Marcella Oellien, age 88, of Canby, MN passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, MN. A Memorial Service will be held in July for Marcella. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Canby, MN is entrusted with the arrangements.

Edna Oien

Edna Ivena Oien Franett, 106 and a half years old, passed away peacefully in Glendale, Calif., on April 2. She was born in Brookings County to Ida and Martin Oien and was predeceased by her beloved sister Inez Olsen and her brother Hjalmar Oien.
