Luverne Thielges, age 93, of Canby, passed away March 29 at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 1, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Canby. Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Canby. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, with a 7 p.m.
Dorothy Serene Mikkelson, 90, died peacefully on March 26 in hospice at Ava's House. She was born on March 30, 1930, in Redlands, CA, to Ole and Inga (Hinsvark) Landstrom. At the age of 3, her family moved back to the Midwest and purchased the Burr General Store in Burr, MN.
Christopher John (CJ) Syltie, age 63, of Marshall, passed away March 23, 2021, at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. There will be a memorial gathering for Chris on Saturday, April 3, from 1:30- 4:00 p.m. at the Porter Hall, with a special presentation at 3:00 p.m. Please come to share memories with family and friends.

Dennis passed away on Sunday, March 14th, 2021.
Dennis was an independent free spirit who found pleasure in the present and extraordinary. He was very in tune with the seasons, did not see the point of hurrying most tasks, loved the details in quality craftsmanship, and gained great satisfaction from the process of fixing things.
Romelle Bekaert, age 69, of Canby, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Memorial service was Friday, March 19, 2021, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gary, SD. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery, Gary, South Dakota.
Michael M. Tesch, age 47, of Canby, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at his home near Canby. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Canby, Minnesota. Visitation will be Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Alice was born to Ole and Julia Ferguson in January 1923 on a farm in Canby, Minnesota, the twelfth child of thirteen.
A 1942 graduate of Canby High School passed away peacefully on February 20, 2021, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 96.
Dorance “Chubby” Lacek, of rural Canby, MN, passed away on his 74th birthday, February 26, 2021, at the Field Crest Care Center in Cottonwood, MN. A mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, March 4th, at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno, MN. Burial was in the St. John Cantius Catholic Church Cemetery in Wilno, MN.
