Tiffany Sanderson, Lake Area Technical College President, announces the 2023 Fall President’s List. The President’s List is a list of outstanding students who, through their initiative and ability, have indicated a seriousness of purpose in their educational program.
Senior Dylan Houseman was nominated by the PE department as the schools’ student of the week. He is the son of Darren and Jessica Houseman.
“Respectful, hardworking, and contributes a lot of his time to the school through extra curriculars,” the department said.
More than 10,800 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the fall semester 2023 Dean's List. Students named to the Dean's List must earn a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire named students that earned the honor of fall 2023 dean's list.
Olivia Mahan-Deitte of Minneota was one of these recipients. She is studying in the college of education and human sciences.

The school board was presented with possible changes to help offset the building project being over budget by $2.5 million. One proposed cut was the hallway/link between the academic side of the building and the gym. This cut could save the school $400,000.
Preston Euerle with RA Morton Construction Managers attended the school board meeting on Monday, January 8, via Zoom and had a lot of information to share with board members.
Senior Isabel Thompson was nominated by the social studies department as the schools’ student of the week. She is the daughter of Cory and Sandy Thompson.
“Ms. Thompson is a very hardworking and careful student. Her work is top notch,” the department said.
The 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open for students and families to access financial aid for college and career/trade school. The FAFSA can be completed at fafsa.gov.
Neko Cable (pictured right) was named Canby elementary’s spelling bee champion on Thursday, Jan. 11, with Zoya van Wyk as runner-up. Cable will be participating in the regional spelling bee in Redwood Falls on Feb. 6.
