Senior RyAnn Hansen was nominated by the social studies department as the school’s student of the week. She is the daughter of Eric and Tracie Hansen.
“RyAnn is a motivated student that cares about her classwork. She engages effectively with her classmates to make the most of her learning experience,” the department said.
Canby Elementary Student Council invited each class to participate in sharing compliments or acts of kindness for World Kindness Day in November. Each student in Canby Elementary was given a cut out handprint to share their act of kindness or compliment on.
During the Canby School Board meeting on Jan. 18, Mr. Dessonville and the FFA girls, paraprofessional week and a new bus were on the agenda.
The FFA girls gave a presentation of their trip to the FFA National Convention.
Ag teacher John Dessonville chaperoned the trip to Indianapolis, Ind., Oct. 25-30.
Senior Alexis Wollum was nominated by the science department as the school’s student of the week. She is the daughter of Dan and Jean Wollum.
Wed., Jan. 26 - Breakfast - Brekkie or choice of cereal with graham crackers; vegetable selection, fresh fruit, milk. Lunch - Cheesebread dunkers with marinara sauce or honey mustard ham wrap; steamed cauliflower, fruit and vegetable bar.
Jan. 24-28 is Paraprofessional Recognition Week, and the Canby School District is fortunate to have amazing paras who work hard to help students succeed.
