Where does the greatest amount of snowfall occur in the U.S.?
When comparing the severity of their state’s winters, individuals will oftentimes use the amount of snow their respective state receives as a measurement. While virtually every state has received at least some snow at some point in it’s history, there is no doubt that certain areas of the country are hotspots for heavy snowfall.
Cochrane Christmas Star
The “Star of Bethlehem,” visible this year on Dec. 21, was a lunar conjunction between the planets of Jupiter and Saturn and is the closest the two planets are to each other every few centuries. This lunar event has not occurred since July of 1623, and it has been nearly 800 years since this event last occurred at night.
