In January 1924, the Community Club of Canby held an Agriculture Short Course and Community Meeting at the high school auditorium with meetings in the morning, afternoon, and the evening of January 21 and 22.  There were four headline speakers; J. G. Haney, J. L. Wenstadt, Zella Wigent, and L. A. Hawkins.

Rotary of Canby

At the Rotary of Canby meeting on Jan. 11, Coach Jeff Thovson (above, L-R), Brynn Kockelman, Kalee Verhelst, and Josie Frank shared about the Lancers girls basketball program and how their season is going. Student Rotarians included (below) Kale Dritz, Colton Ruether, and Brooklyn Kindopp.

WRAPS

January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month as well as National Stalking Awareness Month. WoMen’s Rural Advocacy Programs, Inc. (WRAP) has been and continues to serve victims of trafficking since 2020 as well as victims of domestic violence since 1994 in Lincoln, Lyon, Redwood, and Yellow Medicine Counties.
