We have been learning about Joe Louwagie’s Vietnam service. He grew up on the family farm south of Green Valley and married Jo Schmitz, in 1968 after graduating college. Facing a draft call, Joe enlisted in the Army for Officer Candidate School (OCS) training, but dropped OCS when a back injury precluded his becoming an officer.

The Library Nook

The library will be closed Monday, January 15, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The Winter Reading program started Monday, January 8, and runs through March 30.  Read six books to get a prize!

Fannie May Mint Fudge Brownies Recipe

Ingredients:

FOR BROWNIES:

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons butter or margarine

2 tablespoons water

2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

2/3 cup all-purpose flour

Correction
