Asa Alan Olsen joined us April 29 at 10:12 p.m. He was two weeks early weighing 7 pounds and 11 ounces and he was 20-1/4 inches long.
Lisa Ferguson has been bringing her design expertise to the Canby area for the last three years with the Ferguson Design Studio and will soon bring a whole new offering in the form of the FDS Showroom.
The Canby Library Book Club will meet, Tuesday, May 2, at 10:30 a.m. and will be discussing the book “The Joy and Light Bus Company” by Alexander McCall Smith. Everyone welcome.
Well this is a time to celebrate. Why? This is the 100th story written about Canby history that Julie and I have done. Julie did a few about the county fair last year. Otherwise I have researched the rest. I look for interesting articles from old papers each week.
At the April 27 meeting of the Rotary of Canby, Pete Schmitz, Canby Rotarian, spoke of a visit to a historic fire station in Newburn, North Carolina; active particularly before and during the Civil War and into present day history. He told some of the history of this North Carolina area.

Every year, the Canby High School senior class has one or two students create a senior mural, and for the past 10 years, those murals have been turned into banners that line the main streets of Canby.
This year’s mural was designed and created by senior Kortney Leppke.
Starting his singing career only six short months ago under the stage name Diamond Judd, Canby native Devic Bridges has quickly gone from opening for small-town bands to the big stage, touring this spring with country superstar Martina McBride.
