New payment options available at state parks, recreation areas, forest campgrounds

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is modernizing payment options in state parks, recreation areas and forest campgrounds by discontinuing the use of on-site self-payment collection boxes and expanding electronic payment options. This includes deploying an app for mobile devices called Yodel.

Looking Back

From April 1998 - Eric Nefstead, a second-grader at Canby Elementary, placed third out of 41 cars entered in the Trailblazer Division of the Pinewood Derby held Saturday in Willmar. He is a member of Cub Scout Pack 305.

Schwan’s invests in UWSWMN

Schwan’s Company and the employees of subsidiaries of Schwan’s Company held their annual workplace campaign to benefit United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN). Employees had the opportunity to make payroll pledges and join in special events, including a pizza lunch and silent auction.

Quilt Class

The Canby Community Ed Quilt Class completed their panel quilts after a few snow day delays. Quilt Classes are offered each March and October through Community Ed and are open to anyone interested. Rotary of Canby

Jody Olson (above) spoke about sundials, explaining how they worked, sharing samples of different types, including one she made herself, and explaining how the time adjusts with location and times of the year at the April 6 meeting of the Rotary Club of Canby.
