Canby has many parks within its boundaries. In 1927, a Tourist Park was formed on the south end of Canby where the swimming pool is located now. I wrote about that a few weeks ago. At the same time there was another park in the planning.

Easy Strawberry Pie

Ingredients:
1 - 9 inch pie crust
2 tbsp cornstarch
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 - 3 ounce package strawberry Jello
4 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
Fresh whipping cream
I’ve come to realize that in rural Minnesota, we are our own best resource. People truly care for their neighbors and communities. When a call goes out for help, the response is often overwhelming. I feel so lucky to be in an area like this.

April is Autism Awareness Month with World Autism Awareness Day marked as April 2. According to the National Autism Association, autism is a bio-neurological development of the brain in the areas of social interaction. Autism now affects one in 36 children.
The Sanford Schott’s building was filled from wall to wall with patrons attending the 23rd Annual Canby Sportsmen’s banquet on April 1. Those who attended enjoyed great food, an ice cream bar, entertainment for the children, the chance to purchase raffle tickets, and bidding on silent auction items.
