Music on Mondays closed out another successful season with the Oak Lake String Band. They played to an enthusiastic crowd on another perfect evening in Central Park. We thank all the talented musicians who played this summer and the members of the audience who have been so generous.
I will finish up about the power plant in Canby that started in 1911. This plant burned coal to heat water to make steam and then to use the steam power to turn a turbine to generate electricity.
Amish Chicken

Ingredients:
6-8 chicken pieces, cleaned
1 c. flour
2 tsp. garlic powder
1 Tbsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. paprika
1-1/2 c. heavy whipping cream
1-1/2 c. water
Emily Coequyt was born and raised in Canby although her and her husband Matt and their four children, Bretten, Jaylyn, Nolan, and Daxton, now call Minneota home. A National Account Executive during the day, Coequyt became an EMT 13 years ago.
