Granite Falls - Efforts to revitalize a historic Yellowstone Trail brand took a major step forward Nov. 19 as core stakeholders from St. Paul to Ortonville convened in Granite Falls to kick off the development of a Yellowstone Trail Cultural Heritage Tourism master plan.


Keith Olsen, pictured with his significant other Aalex Hubin and her children, Bryn and Violet Hubin, was awarded Lincoln County’s Outstanding Conservationalist Award for 2021. 

Local farmer honored with Outstanding Conservationist Award

On land purchased in 1892 by Hans and Stella Olsen, fourth generation farmer and rancher Keith Olsen is doing something a little bit different then the generations of Olsen men before him; he is trying his hand at regenerative farming.

Robert Bly, named in 2008 the first poet laureate in Minnesota, passed away Nov. 21, in Minneapolis at the age of 94. Bly was a poet and writer best known for his 1990 book Iron John: A Book About Men. He won the National Book Award for Poetry in 1968. He was born in 1926 in LqP County.
