Minnesota to begin administering Moderna, Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 booster shots to recommended citizens

On Oct. 22, Governor Tim Walz announced that Minnesota will begin administering Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 booster shots to eligible Minnesotans in line with federal guidance issued from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Hendricks - On Oct. 10, Vonn Zylstra, originally from Hendricks, and his wife, Marcia Zylstra, were sitting in their home in Spicer watching two NFL football games on two separate televisions sets. The Carolina Panthers were playing the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Minnesota Vikings were playing the Detroit Lions.

YMC Fair board elects officers, sets tentative fair dates during annual meeting

The Yellow Medicine County fair board held their annual meeting on Nov. 18. There was a discussion of the upcoming, January fair convention. This is an annual event where fairs may view acts and entertainment that they may book for their upcoming fair. Delegates to the convention are Amy and Gabby Nemitz, Holly Hoffman and Doug Coil.

Council approves the use of American Rescue Act Funds to replace lost revenue for Sportsman’s Club; Alex Renaas resigns as council member

During their Nov. 17 meeting, the Canby City Council discussed ARP funds for the Sportsman’s Club, accepted the resignation of Alex Renaas, and heard updates on the police department in-car cameras and the airport hangar doors.

The library will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25, for Thanksgiving holiday.

A Christmas tree book fold take and make is now available.  Turn a book into a Christmas tree; we will supply the book, glue, paintbrush, napkin and glitter. You will need to supply decorations and creativity.
