Linda Limberg

Linda L. Limberg, age 74, of Gary, S.D., passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. Funeral service was held Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at the Augusta Lutheran Church in Marietta, Minn., with Rev. John Graves officiating. Burial was in the Augusta Cemetery, Marietta.

Houseman Funeral Home in Clear Lake, S.D., is entrusted with the arrangements.

Linda Lou (Peterson) Limberg was born January 13, 1948, to Martin and Orva (Udesen) Peterson in Watertown, S.D. The family lived on a farm near Lake Cochrane until she was three and then moved into Gary, SD where she attended school through the first grade. When Linda was seven, they then moved to Marietta, Minn., where she attended school, graduating in 1966. She continued her education at Canby Vo-Tech for a year. She then worked at Gelco Leasing in Hopkins, Minn., for four years.

Linda was united in marriage to Gene Limberg at Augusta Lutheran Church in Marietta on September 25, 1971. They farmed near Revillo, S.D., until 1988 when they moved to Sioux Falls, SD. Linda worked for Citibank as a credit analyst until 2011. In 2017, they moved to Gary, S.D., where they enjoyed their retirement. Gene passed away on June 11, 2019. Linda continued living in Gary until her health required her to move to Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby. Linda passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D., at the age of 74.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Olson of Canby, Minn.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce (Maynard) Peterson of Clear Lake, S.D., Darlene Brinkhuis of Little Rock, Iowa, and Donna (James) Collins of Revillo, S.D..; 15 nieces and nephews; good friends, Brenda Snipes, Angel Oeltjenbruns, Jay Grabow, and Jeff, Jodi, Darren and Sophia Engesser; and her cat Midnight.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; parents; mother and father-in-law, John and Anna Limberg; sister, Verna Volk; brothers-in-law, Warner Volk, Chancey Olson, and Leroy Limberg; nephews, Ron Volk, Dean Olson, Roger Olson, and Allen Olson; and nieces, Tammy Brinkhaus and Romelle Bekaert.
