Every time I think it’s reached its worst … it gets worse again.
I honestly cannot believe why people are still falling for it. The fear runs deep.
We are on the move once again! After moving to our rental a little over a year ago, we are finally moving onto the homeplace. This is perfect timing as our rental does not have any extra room for a homeschool room.
It is an exciting week in the Prairie Five offices – each will be having a legal aid kiosk installed. Minnesota Legal Aid explains that, “Reach Justice Minnesota is a series of initiatives (one of which is the kiosks) that leverage technology and staffing to help protect Minnesotans’ basic civil and human rights.
The school year is upon us. Stores are full of back-to-school supplies, and I can honestly tell you that if I were having to go back as a teacher this year, I would have this pit of dread in my stomach. It is too soon. I didn’t get enough time with my kids. I cannot handle being in the classroom again already.
Well, my husband and I have spent our first few days together in our new home in Aberdeen. Previously, my husband had stayed there on his days off between shifts and came back to Watertown or Canby on his four-day breaks.
You hope you never need them, but you’re glad they’re always there.

Harry and Bessie Hansen, long-time Hendricks residents. had six children; Dad is famously remembered for his early morning friendly face, making coffee at Kirkvold’s. Mom loved the church and children, babysitter of the decade.
We lost our youngest sister, Aine, in 1998 to an automobile accident.
I was thinking of waiting until Monday morning to write this week’s column, but I am totally putting off writing up the city council stuff, so here we go!
As I reflect on my eight years at the Canby News … wow! What a journey it’s been!
I remember that out of the blue phone call from the Western Guard asking if I would be willing to help them get Canby up and running.
