Tylee's Tales

First, I would like to congratulate myself. I’m actually writing this early, like an entire week early. It may not seem like much to you, but normally, it’s not done until 10 p.m. the night before; okay, let's be real, I don’t get them done until a few hours before print. This time, though, I decided to switch it up.

This past week was my last week with my seniors. Well, my last week with seniors physically in my classroom. They’ve been mentally checked out for months now, and I don’t blame them one bit. How can one concentrate on the right now when the exciting unknown is right around the corner?

Lab grown or synthetic meat is apparently the new thing. Several years ago, I heard about someone saying that it was better to buy meat from the grocery store than the farmer because then no animals were harmed. Every father loves to see some of their traits reflected in their children.

The apple not falling far from the tree.

Chips off the old block. Cut from the same cloth.

Last week alone, I saw myself in all three of my kids, and it brought a tear to my eye.

Summer is right around the corner! Can you even stand it?  Well … I can. We have my sweet nephew’s wedding, and I came to a hard realization. I need to shed some weight.  I hear people say all the time, “ugh, I have to lose the pounds I gained over the winter.”  Well, I have to lose weight from a lot of winters. Yep.

Prom was last weekend. I had so much fun, but I don’t believe I will ever recover from staying up as late as I did. I have finished out the week with going to bed at anywhere between 7 and 8 p.m. and getting up as late as possible. Again, I may not recover for a few years.
