Michael Hart with PMA Financial Network and Charlotte Nienhaus with ISG presented the community task force meeting on March 23 at the Canby High School.
The evening’s goals were to do a SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats), finance/tax impact, and project priority.
The following students were named to the dean’s/honors lists at the colleges they attend. Typical requirements for dean’s list honors include taking at least 12 credits for the semester and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, though requirements may vary by college.

The Canby School Board met on March 28 and voted on the 2022-2023 calendar and the hiring of a new teacher as well as bus driver’s pay.
The 2022/2023 school calendar was approved by the board. For Christmas, school will be let out on Dec. 22 instead of Dec. 23.
Canby High School’s National Honor Society has been packing and sending out lunches to elementary school kids in need to ensure that they are getting the food and nutrition everyone deserves.
The NHS group has been completing this task of packing the lunches and delivering them to the elementary school for the last five years.
25 area high school students came to campus in order to shadow as well as have a hands on experience learning about becoming a dental assistant, wind technician, diesel technician, or electrician at Minnesota West in Canby on March 17.
Senior Tyler Hiedeman was nominated by the technology department as the school’s student of the week. He is the son of Jeff and Angie Johnson.
“Tyler is in both drones and furniture classes. He is always interested in what is happening and enjoyable to have in class,” the department said.
