Country Twisters compete at Sweetheart Spectacular in Watertown

The Country Twisters traveled to Watertown Feb. 18 to participate in the Sweetheart Spectacular with four girls coming in top five all around.

In Level 8, Ages 11-14, Cali Fliss finished first all-around with a score of 34.975. Fliss received second on both vault and bars, third on the beam and tied for third on floor.

Loss to BBE brings Lancer wrestling season to end

Canby wrestling’s team season came to a halt at the hands of Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, the Section 5A champions.

After rolling over No. 7 seeded Benson 56-20 in Canby Thursday, the No. 2 Lancers faced off with No. 3 BBE Saturday in Benson, going down 40-19.

BBE went on to beat No. 1 KMS in the finals 38-25.


During the Lady Lancers’ loss to Luverne Friday at home, Brynn Kockelman kept her eyes on the ball, not allowing her opponent to reach the lane.

Minneota, Luverne leave with double digit victories over Lancers

The Lady Lancers had a rough week at home falling to Minneota by 37 and Luverne 28.

They will be looking for a better outcome Friday as they host Russell-Tyler-Ruthton.

The Lancers were rolled by the Vikings 59-22 at home Feb. 6.

The Canby-Minneota Sensations dance team took third place at the tournament in Lakeview on Feb. 3.


Eli Greenman wasn’t about to allow his opponent to get off the ground during the Canby Triangular on Thursday. Greenman finished the night with two falls over Jayden Hoecke (above) of ACGC and Nelson Velasquez of UNITED.

Canby takes down ACGC during home triangular, fall to UNITED

Canby fell one point short of sweeping their home triangular Thursday when ACGC and the UNITED came to town.

The Lancers beat ACGC handily, but fell to the UNITED by one point in a dramatic and exciting match. The UNITED defeated ACGC 60-18 in their match.

Evan Weber plowed his way through the lane in Lakeview last Thursday putting up two of his six points for the night.

Lancer basketball defeats TMB, loses to Lakeview on the road

While on the road last week, the Lancers defeated Tracy-Milroy-Balaton before falling to Lakeview in a tough battle.

The boys will host Minneota this evening before traveling to Hancock on Thursday. They will return home next Monday to fight for another victory over TMB.
