Taking Florida by storm

At the AAU Junior National Championships in Orlando, Fla., last weekend, Emily Nelson (front, left) and Karlie Wollum (back, third from right) helped their 15-1 team to place 19th out of 181 teams, winning the Consultation Bracket in the 15 Club Division. Canby students, Grace Hansen (back, second from left), Brynn Kockelman (front, left) and Olivia Cleveland (front, right) played on the Elite Alliance Volleyball team where they went 9-4, taking 20th place out of 179 teams in Aspire at the AAU Nationals in Orlando, Fla.

Finishing top 5

The Harding twins, Rachel and Gabby (far right, front and back rows) joined their 18-1 Kandi Elite Volleyball Club team in a fifth place finish out of 94 at the AAU National Championship in Florida last weekend. The team finished with a 9-2 record.

Canby’s upcoming senior, Paige Nelson (front, middle) along with her 17-1 SWMNV went 9-0 in pool play earning a challenge match where they came up just short in a 3-set match. They finished the tournament 9-2, tying for 24th out of 157 teams at the AAU Junior National Championships in Orlando, Fla., last weekend

Trap Shooting Championship

More than 340 high school teams featuring nearly 7,900 student athletes are expected for the 2022 Trap Shooting Championship, June 13 through June 21 at the Alexandria Shooting Park in Alexandria. On June 15, some members of the Canby High School Trap team participated in the state shooting competition.


Easton Antony pitched his way on to the Camden All-Conference Team.

Antony named All-Conference, Engesmoe honorable mention

Canby baseball had one player named to the Camden All-Conference Team while one earned honorable mention.

Senior Easton Antony earned All-Conference honors while sophomore Evan Engesmoe was named honorable mention.

Conference MVP went to KMS’s Alex Call, a senior, and Coach of the Year went to RTR’s Josh Fredrickson.


TMB’s batter popped up Minneota-Canby’s pitcher, Ava Larson, during the Vikings’ victory at home Friday.

Minneota/Canby Vikings’ softball finishes their season

The Minneota/Canby softball team finished their season with a 12-9 record, putting out strong offensive numbers this past spring.

As a team, the Vikings posted a .401 batting average with a 1.068 OPS (on base plus slugging). M/C hit four home runs and scored 181 runs on the year.
