Michael Tol knew where he was going with the ball and RTR wasn’t going to get in his way during the Lancers’ home matchup last Tuesday.

Lancers outscore ORR team by over 30

The Lancers kept busy with a three game schedule last week. They weren’t able to hold off RTR or MACCRAY at home but had a dominate showing in Deubrook against Oldham-Ramona-Rutland.

This week the boys will slow down with only one night of action when they head to Ortonville Thursday. Monday they will return home to host CMCS.

Winning Group

Canby youth wrestling took first place at the Dam Site Tournament in Granite Falls Jan. 14 with every wrestling on the roster earning at least one win. As a team they defeated BOLD 45-27, Quad County 62-15 and Marshall 59-15.


Some of the local gymnasts that made their way to Las Vegas to compete were (L-R) Bailey Hunt, Jocelyn Oellien, Lauryn Peterreins, Presley Richter, Kendra Rangaard, Emma Koening and Coach Caitlin Steffensen.

Country Twisters Gymnastics Club starts off strong in first three meets

The Country Twisters gymnastics club have three meets under their belts already competing in the VIP’s North Pole Palooza, All American Gymnastics Invitational and 2024 Future 16.

This weekend CTG will go back to Sioux Falls for Rumble in the Jungle.

At the Minnewaska Laker Invite Friday, Cash Antony went undefeated earning a trip to the top of the podium.

Lancers take over podiums at Minnewaska Laker Invite

Canby grapplers grabbed fourth place out of 10 teams at the Minnewaska Laker Invite Friday night.

The Lancers tallied 130 points, with BBE taking first place with a score of 204.5. Little Falls pulled in second place with 159 points and Scott West finished third at 152.


Cayden Anderson showed off his hops during the Lancers’ home game against KMS Friday, laying in two.

Lancers earned a major road win before falling at home

The Lancers split the week last week, owning the Lakeview court Tuesday before losing to KMS at home Friday.Tonight the boys will face off against RTR with varsity starting at 7:15 p.m. before welcoming MACCRAY Friday. The will spend their Saturday in Deubrook making up  what was previously postponed due to the freezing temperatures.


Cash Antony took third place at the Foley Tom Keating Invitational Saturday after pinning Jake Drexler of Foley and defeating Andrew Hayes of Royalton-Upsala with a 4-3 decision.

Lancers place sixth, with six grapplers reaching the podium

Canby wrestling placed sixth out of 10 teams at the Tom Keating Invitational in Foley Saturday.

The Lancers posted a score of 92, with Totino-Grace taking first with 238, Forest Lake coming in second with 172, and Royalton-Upsala placing third with 149.5.
