Clara Flink Sorenson Taylor was born on July 23, 1939, in Canby to Anton P. Sorensen and Ida (Dysvik) Sorensen Wester. The family moved to Pine River, Minn., where Clara was raised. Clara worked in Minneapolis, Minn., making contact lens’ until her mother moved to Shelbina, Mo., and she decided to move as well to be close to her mom. Clara and her mother returned to Minnesota after 25 years in Missouri, and Clara was dedicated to taking care of her mother until her death.
Clara loved people. Her handiwork was shared with many of us. She loved to cook and learned from her mom. Her work ethic and independence were examples from her dad. Living with polio since she was 13, she resisted help most of the time.
She loved to yodel and said she felt the freedom to sing while driving her car. We will miss her songs, words of wisdom from the Farmer’s Almanac, and especially her final reply in letters and phone calls, “I love you and I love everyone”.
Clara is survived by her sister, Anna Sorensen Lawrence of Laurel, Mont.;  her brother, Lincoln “Bill” Sorensen of Moberly, Mo; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Anton Sorensen and Ida Dysvik Sorensen Wester.
