
Daniel Hunt
Daniel Allison Hunt, age 57, formerly of Canby, Minn., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, in Sioux Falls, S.D. A celebration of Daniel’s life will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Christian Fellowship Church in Detroit Lakes, Minn.
Daniel Allison Hunt was born on June 20, 1967, in Minneapolis, Minn. to Lowell Prentice and Vivian Mildred (Langdon) Hunt. He was raised and received is education on a farm near Canby.
Dan was blessed with the ability to fix about anything, and he spent his career as a handyman, making his home in Sioux Falls for over 30-years. You could always find Daniel with a tape measure on his side and a pocket full of nails. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, caring for his two cats, Precious and Cash, and spending time with his family and friends. He had an infectious laugh, great sense of humor and a caring and loving soul. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed.
Grateful for having shared his life are his father, Lowell Prentice Hunt of Detroit Lakes; siblings: Dianne (Vern) Bruxvoort of Detroit Lakes, David (Kathy) Hunt of Superior, Wisc., Debi Christensen of Bemidji, Minn., Douglas Hunt of Sioux Falls, and Desli (Peter) Snortum of Perham, Minn.; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Daniel is preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Mildred Hunt; one sister, Dawn LeBlanc and her husband, Tom; and niece, Joy LeBlanc.
