Robert Hoseck

Robert “Bob” Hoseck, age 90, of Granite Falls, Minn., and formerly of Hanley Falls passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, at Minnesota Veterans Home in Montevideo. Visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls with a memorial service at 3 p.m.
Robert Leon Hoseck was born on March 24, 1935, in Gary, S.D., the son of Thomas and Borghild (Larsen) Hoseck. He was baptized and later confirmed at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Canby, Minn. Bob attended District #47 country school and then Canby High School where he graduated. He enlisted in the United States Army on March 14, 1960, and served our country in Germany for four years. He was honorably discharged on March 19, 1964.
Bob was united in marriage to Lola Peterson on Sept. 3, 1961, at Providence Valley Lutheran Church near Dawson, Minn. The couple called Hanley Falls their home for over 49 years. They were blessed with four children, Lorie, Ronda, Todd and Nathan.
Bob’s first job was at the Canby Hatchery and later worked with two road construction crews before he started working at Rodgers Hydraulics in Granite Falls. He worked for 47 years before retiring in 1994. Bob was a charter member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was a member of the Montevideo American Legion.
When Bob was young, he enjoyed hunting, camping with family, fishing in Canada and snowmobiling. He could repair cars, do carpentry and woodworking. Bob enjoyed gardening, growing flowers of many kinds. He loved his family and was very proud of his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lola; children: Lorie Carl of Appleton, Ronda (Calvin) Bardwell of Litchfield, and Todd (Kim) Hoseck of Marshall; grandchildren: Ryan Carl, Matt Carl, Kirsty Wilaby, Derrick Hoseck, Liam Hoseck, Caleb Condon, and Marissa Rapp; great-grandchildren: Grecia, Elena, Norah, Emery; brother-in-law, Donovan (Deloris) Peterson of Madison; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, son, Nathan; daughter-in-law, Tracy Hoseck; and sister-in-law, Marlys (Dick) Mumma.
