Connie Otto

Connie Otto, age 73, of rural Canby, Minnesota, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Mass of Christian Burial took place Monday, August 18, at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno, Minnesota, with burial at the St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel of Canby was been entrusted with the arrangements.
Constance “Connie” Catherine (Jeppesen) Otto was born on July 28, 1952, to Arvin and Caryl Jeppesen in Canby. She attended Marble School until the eighth grade and then attended Canby High School and graduated in 1971. After graduation, Connie continued her education at St. Cloud Technical College and graduated with a degree in clerical studies. After graduation, Connie worked as a secretary for the Canby Vocational Technical College. During this time she met her life-long love, Bill Otto. Bill and Connie were united in marriage on June 23,1973, at St. John Cantius Church in Wilno. Together they were blessed with five children. While raising five children, Connie began working at Divine Providence Health Center, where she worked for 25 years in the laundry department.
Connie was a devoted wife, selfless mother, and the most loving grandma to her 14 grandchildren. She was a true friend to many, never putting herself before others. Her talents ran deep. She was an amazing cook, especially her lefse and Belgium cookies, a talented gardener with beautiful flower gardens, a canner of all the vegetables she could grow, loved to quilt and took pride in all the quilts she could gift her children and grandchildren. Connie was a person of strong faith and a faithful member of St. John Cantius Church. This shined as she taught CCD for many years. She was a servant of God. But most of all she was “the best” caretaker of her family.
Connie “Mom” was greeted into Heaven on August 12, 2025, at Avera Hospital at the age of 73 years and 15 days young. May she rest in peace.
 Grateful for having shared Connie’s life is her husband, Bill of 52 years; five children and 14 grandchildren: Daron Otto (special friend, Kim), Emily (Dillan), Ashlyn and  Dylan of Canby; Jennifer (Troy) Otto, Sawyer and Skylar of Walnut Grove, Minnesota; Bill Jr. (Jodi) Otto, Joelle, Quinn and Gabe of Canby, Lisa (Ryan) Hulsebus, Addison and Jackson of Sioux Falls, Ryan (Jennifer) Otto, Grace, Lyla, Mason and Chase of New Windsor, New York; her siblings: Mary Jo Knutson, Gregg Jeppesen, Bruce Jeppesen, Lori (Chris) Husby, Barb Jeppesen, Karin (Jim) Beer, and Brad Jeppesen; her in-laws: Sharon Otto, John Otto, Tom Otto, Mary Barnes, Sister Rita Marie Otto and Mike (Caroline) Otto; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
 She is preceded in death by her parents, Caryl and Arvin Jeppesen; her mother-in-law, Pauline; father-in-law Harry Otto; step mother in-law, Adeline; and many other dear family and friends.
