James H. Wilde went to be with Jesus on March 16, 2025, at age 94. James has left behind a legacy of faith that will go on for generations. His faithful prayers were effective, anchoring and sustaining his family.

Darrell O. Anderson "Andy" of Montevideo died on Wednesday, March 19, 2025,  at the age of 79, while receiving hospice and respite care at the Appleton Health Services.

James H. Wilde, beloved long-time school teacher and former resident of Canby, went to be with Jesus on March 16, 2025, at age 94. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025, 11 a.m. at the White Funeral Home - 20134 Kenwood Trail, Lakeville,  Minn., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Lunch will follow.

Ruth M. Hallaway, age 76, of Faribault, Minn., passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family following an extended illness.
Ruth Marie, the daughter of Walter and Florence (Dahl) Larson was born on July 5, 1948, in Canby, Minn. She attended Canby High School and graduated with the class of 1966. 

Funeral service for Frederick “Freddie” John Gottskalkson, 88, of Porter, Minn., was held March 14, 2025, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Minneota, Minn., with a graveside service following at the Lincoln Icelandic Lutheran Cemetery. 

Charles H. Houge, age 92, passed away March 8, 2025. 
Charles and his wife Lois resided in La Crescent, Minn., until moving to Canby in 1962. In 1988 they moved to the Twin Cities, and upon retirement in 2008, moved to Northfield, Minn. 

Alona Cahow, age 89, of Cresbard, S.D., and formerly of Canby, Minn., passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the Faulkton Area Medical Center in Faulkton, S.D. 

Ethel M. Berndt, age 84, of Canby, Minn., passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby.  Memorial service took place Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Canby with Rev. Jeff Cooper officiating.
