LeRoy Frank, age 79, of Canby, Minn., passed away at his home on Monday, April 27, 2026, in Canby. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Canby. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Canby. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel of Canby, has been entrusted with the arrangements.

LeRoy Adam Frank of Canby died peacefully in his sleep April 27 at his home at the age of 79, a short time after being diagnosed with lung cancer. His funeral will be at St. Peter’s Church in Canby at 10:30 a.m., with visitation the hour preceding the service.

LeRoy was born in Hendricks, Minn., on March 16, 1947, to Rose (Zgoda) and LeRoy Frank Sr. He grew up in Ivanhoe, where he was baptized, received First Communion, and confirmed at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He graduated from Ivanhoe High School, where he met his wife, Diane (Brown).

He attended the Granite Falls Vo Tech after school for business and enlisted in the National Guard. He and Diane married on July 1, 1967. Making their home in Canby, they had three children, and LeRoy pursued a career in insurance. In 1973, he took an opportunity to purchase the George Hanson Insurance agency. Eventually, he partnered with agencies in Balaton and Marshall, forming the successful Southwest Insurance Services. He was active and held leadership positions in the Canby Jaycees, Rotary, and Chamber of Commerce.

In his early adulthood, he enjoyed bowling, racquetball, darts, and golfing. He had a group of buddies with whom he enjoyed fishing and hunting; we have enjoyed hearing stories about this time. When his sons became old enough, he taught them how to hunt and fish. He had two cabins (consecutively) on Big Stone Lake, which is where he liked to spend his time fishing and enjoying nature.

As he got older, his interests became a bit more leisurely. He loved to watch Westerns, and being at home was his place of comfort. He enjoyed engaging in debates with family members on current topics and learning others’ mindsets and perceptions.

LeRoy is survived by his wife, Diane; daughter: Kari Harding (Jeff); sons: Michael (Shelly) and David (Christine); grandchildren: Nolan (fiancé Abby Riesgraf), Rachel and Gabby Harding; Caullin, Maya, and Josie Frank; and Blake Haugen (Kacie); great-grandchildren: Jaden, Camri, and Bryer Haugen.

Also surviving are sisters: Mary Jo Frensko, Jane Frank, and Jean Maquette; and brothers: Ed and John Frank.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Colleen; brothers, Jeff and Jim; and infant grandsons, Ethan Frank and Adam Harding.
