Gerald Wayne Mead was born Aug. 16, 1951, in Canby, Minn., to Warren and Helen (Marczak) Mead.
Jerry’s life was a testament to love and resilience. On Sept. 25, 1992, he married Barb Darville in a beautiful ceremony, blending their families and building a life filled with adventures, laughter and, most importantly, love. Together, they shared 34 years of marriage and created countless memories.
Jerry worked as a welder for most of his adult life, demonstrating his strong work ethic and dedication. After retiring in 2020, he continued working part-time as a welder and in property maintenance. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were also reflected in his personal life, especially in his passion for making chocolate chip cookies from scratch, a skill he mastered without ever needing a recipe.
Jerry found joy in fishing, playing pool, playing Buck and, most importantly, spending time with his family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He treasured his time with Wesley, Ethan, Kilee, Tucker, Maddie, Tanner, Jade, Trystan, Brittany and Arianna, as well as his bonus grandchildren, Myah and Tucker.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Barb; children, Angie, Jessica (Javier), Damon, Jennifer (Darin), David (Shawna), Joe (Katie), Garret and Michael (Jenny); beloved grandchildren; brothers, Roger (Judy), Larry (Loretta), Dwayne (Deb), Richard (Laura), Bruce (Nancy) and Mick; sisters, Sharon, Rose, Mary (Dale) and Barb; brother-in-law, Jeff (Sharon); sister-in-law, Chere (Crosby); and many family friends. They will remember Jerry for his compassion and the love he generously shared, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.

Jerry’s legacy will continue to inspire and guide his family, friends and all who knew him as they celebrate a life well-lived and a man who was deeply loved.
