RoseMary Schmitz

RoseMary (Stone) Schmitz, age 82, of Minnetonka, passed away on June 25, 2025. Preceded in death by parents, Stanton and Frances Stone, and brother, Ed.
RoseMary was born at home in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, and raised on a farm near Hendricks. After high school in Canby, she earned her nursing degree from St. Mary’s in Rochester. She met her husband, Larry Schmitz, through mutual friends from Laketrails Camp, and they married in 1966. Together they lived in Duluth, Madison and Wausau, where they raised their three children. RoseMary worked as a visiting nurse, legal nurse consultant and school nurse.
She was known for her love of gardening, reading and sharing her homemade breads, cinnamon rolls and cookies.
Survived by husband, Larry; siblings: Jim, John, Mike, Terrie, Kathy and Barbie; children: Jenny, Greg and Philip; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A celebration of life will be held August 2, 2025, from 2–6  p.m., with a program at 3 p.m., at the Donegal Ballroom, Marriott Minneapolis West. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a meaningful service organization in her memory. cremationsocietyofmn.com
