Betty Hanna, age 87, of Canby, Minn., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, at The Little House, leaving the loving embrace of her daughter to enter God’s kingdom after a brief struggle with heart failure. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Levi Bollerud officiating.
Floyd C. Melrose passed away in Brookings, S.D., on Jan. 27, 2026. A service for Floyd was held Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Brookings.
Teresa M. Menk, age 60, of Canby, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026 at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Canby. Burial will be in Canby City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Barbara “Barb” Peterson, age 77, of rural Canby, Minn., passed away on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D., with her family at her side. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Canby. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan.
Lyle W. Tobin, age 93, of Gary, S.D., passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at his home on Lake Cochrane. A memorial service took place January 19, at the First Presbyterian Church in Canby, Minn. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Canby was entrusted with the arrangements.
Eugene A. Citrowske, age 81, of Canby, Minn., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, at the Madison Healthcare Nursing Home in Madison, Minn. Funeral services were held. Monday, Jan. 12, at the Bethel Fellowship Church in Minneota, Minn. Burial will be in the Canby City Cemetery.
Robert “Bob” Hoseck, age 90, of Granite Falls, Minn., and formerly of Hanley Falls passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, at Minnesota Veterans Home in Montevideo. Visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls with a memorial service at 3 p.m.
Orval B. Gubrud, age 84, of Canby, Minn., passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2025, at his home in Canby. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at Nicolai Lutheran Church in Canby. Burial will be in the Canby City Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, Jan.
Cynthia “Cindy” Barbara Kockelman, of Shakopee, Minn., passed away at the age of 59 on Dec.18, 2025, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Born on July 8, 1966, Cindy grew up on the family farm outside of St. Leo, Minn., with her parents and four siblings.
