From Feb. 1973 - Building progress in Canby during 1972 was the highest it has been for quite a few years and above is a montage of some of those residential and business structures and additions which were completed in 1972.

Deborah Reiter Deborah Ann (Evjen) Reiter, age 71, of Stillwater, Minn., passed away peacefully at Lakeview Hospital on February 15, 2023.

Dewey Orville Tetrick, age 93, of Canby, Minn., died February 2023. He was born in 1929 in Redwood Falls, Minn., the son of Wilbur Orville and Emma (Zimmerli) Tetrick. He attended a one room country grade school and graduated from Redwood Falls High School where he participated in football and wrestling.

Pearl Knutson, age 92, Aberdeen, S.D., formerly of Canby, Minn., passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at the Sanford Hospital in Aberdeen.

Funeral service was held on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Porter, Minn., with Rev. Ellen Munter officiating. Burial took place at the Canby City Cemetery, Canby.

Pearl Knutson, age 92, of Aberdeen, S.D., formerly of Canby, Minn., passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at the Sanford Hospital in Aberdeen, S.D. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Porter, Minn., with Rev. Ellen Munter officiating. Burial will be in the Canby City Cemetery, Canby, Minn.

Lambert R. Abraham, age 89, of St. Leo, Minn., passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at the St. Leo Catholic Church in St. Leo, Minn., with Fr. Ron Huberty officiating. Burial will be in the St. Leo Catholic Cemetery.

Dorothy Mary Hayek, beloved mother and grandmother, went peacefully to her heavenly home to reunite with husband, Millard, on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023.

She was born Jan. 8, 1926, south of Canby, the daughter of Theodore and Regina (Beultel) Miller.

Darold L. Snortum, age 96, of Canby, Minn., passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023, at the Sanford Canby Medical Center in Canby. A “Celebration of Life” service will be on April 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Canby, Minn., with burial in the St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Canby.
